Maternity photoshoot Benoni with Meta at Homestead Dam

This Benoni Maternity photoshoot was taken at Homestead Dam with Meta. This is an older photoshoot I haven’t had a chance to put up yet but is a great example of an outdoor maternity photoshoot.

Photography Location

Homestead dam is one of the regular public and free photography venues I use in Benoni. It is great for all types of photoshoots. But especially for children as it is easily accessible and has jungle gyms, swings and ducks. These items are great for distractions with young children to get natural-looking poses. It helps keep them happy and smiling for the photos. It is also great for maternity with beautiful backgrounds.

Overcoming Costume Changes

Because it is a public space and the facilities are not great for changing outfits. This wasn’t an issue with this particular photoshoot as Meta had her own dresses. We then added some of the Maternity skirts I have for hire to give the images some movement and accentuate her baby bump.

Final Thoughts

We did the shoot in the late afternoon at sunset as this is the best light you can get for photos. It is important to get that golden orange flare which you see in some of these photos.
