Engagement Photo Session | Avke and Stefan

Cosmos shoots are so special because they only happen at certain times of the year. And it really adds some beautiful colour to your photoshoot, no matter what kind of photos you are looking for. Cosmos is a flower that only blooms once or twice a year depending on the rain. So if you are looking for a green photoshoot with lots of colourful flowers then this is definitely the option for you. In Gauteng keep March and late october in mind for possible dates for your photoshoot. However this can be unpredictable as it is dependent on the rain. So try to be as flexible as you can.  The venues that have cosmos are Kenmuir road and Vega equestrian centre normally.

It worked so well here because after a few photos of the couple together they then decided to also do a colour photo shoot. Don’t worry all colours used are biodegradable. The colours they used seem to echo the colours of the flowers and scenery don’t you think? It really made for some great natural photos. Colour photo shoots are definitely a creative and fun way to bring something extra to an engagement shoot. They make for some great natural smiles and expressions and are an easy add on to your normal engagement photos. So if you really love colour then this is definitely an option for you. Some tips – wear a white top so the colour shows up nicely against it. Choose bold colours that suit the theme of your wedding or environment. For example if you have a green background, then choosing green powder paint may not work out well as it wont stand out against the background too well.  And most importantly as mentioned above please use biodegradable powder paints as we don’t want to hurt the environment. Just a small note on engagement photo session outfits. In this case the couple kept it simple as they were going to be surrounded by flowers . But its important when choosing an engagement photoshoot outfit that you wear something that does not clash with your partners outfit or the surroundings. This will help to make the photos flow nicely and give them some synergy. Also consider props like hats like Avke did in this photoshoot. it does not have to be in all the photos but can be a great add on and give you some variety.  And of course lets not forget the ever important engagement ring for this photoshoot.

The couple were really excited to be getting married in late April. But unfortunately, this has had to be postponed for the time being due to the coronavirus outbreak.
